Share Your Postcard Designs

Holly’s postcards are a collage of magazine pictures, words, photos and other mixed media materials complied into a postcard that shares a story. The beauty is that you can re-use materials and supplies already on hand. In the end you will have created a piece of art on a limited budget. If you look around your home or office, I am sure you will find lots of great stuff that you can use in your piece of art. If you make a postcard and you would like to be a guest artist on my blog (with credits given to you), email me at hollyjarzenskiberlin@gmail.com Remember every postcard has meaning behind it, so don't forget to share your story! Express yourself!

Love Me

Bullying is a worldwide problem. Today I read about a 15-year old girl who was found hanging by a scarf in her bedroom after enduring relentless bullying by her classmates.
Bullying can happen anywhere and to anyone. Get the information that you need to help stop bullying at our schools, online, and in communities.
As I remember my childhood, I can remember other kids bullying me because of my weight. God made us all different and we need to accept others for who they really are and stop trying to hurt people.

Moments

ATC - "Moments"
We need to learn to celebrate many of life’s moments and realize that they are worth saving. We should hang on to every happy moment and let it carry us. ☮❤

What is Hurt?

What is hurt? Why would anyone want to hurt you? Husbands, wives, partners, friends, co-workers, sisters, brothers, parents, children, churches, social clubs, organizations, companies and animals - there is so much hurt in the world. Hurt can be caused by words, physical abuse, or betrayal. Do people hurt others because they have been hurt by others? Are people born with a mean streak in them? In creating this Artist Trading Card (yes an ATC instead of a postcard), I pose the question why do people hurt others, not only humans but other living things? I look forward to hearing your thoughts. ☮❤

“A Contagious Smile”

We are only as pretty as the smile on our face and the thoughts that fill our heart.  If we act on negative thoughts, our expressions and tone will be cold and unfriendly. If we think and act on positive thoughts, our expressions and tone will be inviting, warm and contagious.   A spirit and heart full of love helps us build better relationships in our families, within our friendship circles, at work, and in our volunteer organizations.
I was reminded this weekend that as leaders if we encourage others, we all get more.  If we discourage, we all get less! So, let’s smile, be pretty and not let the negative thoughts bring us down. Be inviting, warm, kind, sincere and passionate and our behaviors will become contagious.
So when we ask others to do something, let's ask with a smile on our face and love in our hearts.  ☮❤

"Sparkle"

Sparkle
This past Saturday we played music while studio visitors were painting “Peace rocks.” I really can’t think of a better way to spend a cold and snowy Saturday afternoon. I love hanging out with friends, playing music, talking to studio visitors, chatting with other studio artists over a glass of wine and painting rocks. I was reminded that the world is made up of so many different types of people, we really are all unique.  I thought about the concept of diversity and peace and how we should have acceptance and respect for all human life.
Love my Peace Uke!

Our creator made us all “different” because that is how he wanted us. If we could embrace that wish and love each other accepting or at least being tolerant of our differences, the world would be a better place. To me it is simple, love and compassion in your heart for all mankind, brings about a kind and gentle loving spirit within, which results in more peace in all of our lives.

Painting rocks is a way I relax; obviously I don’t have the same level of talent in regards to painting as some of my studio neighbors, not even close, but watching our visitors (of all ages I might add) paint “Peace" rocks, gave an overall peaceful spirit within our studio that cold and snowy Saturday afternoon.

So, I would encourage you to think about the words: Peace, Love, Compassion, Acceptance and Tolerance and then ask yourself how you can have more love in your heart which will result in more peace in your life and more peace for those around you.

"Attitude?"

Sometimes I feel all those emotions in the same day.  I am a woman, need I say more?

"Share Yourself"

Love yourself and show others that same love and everything falls in line. Love your coffee and it will love you. Need I say more? Love is a sharing thing. Share both your love and your coffee and I guarantee you will make friends.
